60 Seconds of Philosophical Mumbo-Jumbo for Creative Freelancers

Robert Fulghum has been my favorite author for many years, below I've included some life wisdom that I have tried to live by, I wanted to share them with you today...

 "Share everything.
Play Fair.
Don’t hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don’t take things that aren’t yours.

Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody.
"*

I've added a small list specifically for creative freelancers - I hope Mr. Fulghum won't mind.

  • Call people back.
  • Never embarrass your mentors.
  • If you try to "sell" your services to a client at least one of you will be unhappy with your result.
  • The same people you step on during your rise to the top may be the same ones you see on the way down.
  • If you make a mistake own up to it.
  • Stay humble - no matter how good you think you are, someone's always better.
  • The client isn't always right.
  • How a client treats you has less about what they say and do and more about how you react to it.

All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten: Uncommon Thoughts on Common Things ISBN 0449908577. If you haven't had a chance to read or hear Robert Fulghum, take a moment and check out one of his books, you'll be glad you did.
