Do you by any chance know how I could find out the pricing of the services I offer for my specific area?
I am finding that most people I meet with think that my prices are too high. I have created my pricing based on surveys from advertising agencies from books and based on how many hours it takes me to do the work x 50 per hour which is my rate.
Good question but I am not really sure of central location where you can survey other’s pricing structures. You could hire someone to call your competition (maybe $7-$10/hr) and see what they charge.
It’s a good idea to have an idea of what others are charging, but at the same time I’ve found that clients are always willing to pay for someone who has a history of being able to bring in money and customers for the client. If you can prove to your clients through verifiable testimonials, a solid guarantee and case studies that you will be a great investment rather than an expense, you have a much better chance of being able to charge what you want. Remember, people will ALWAYS say you’re too expensive no matter what you charge, your success will be a function of your ability to convince clients that you will help them make money rather than cost them money.
